Location
Goseong-gun is located at the southern end of central Gyeongnam. It is endowed with natural tourism resources of beautiful mountains, ocean, and fields.
Festival
Goseong was the center of the Gaya kingdom during ancient years. Goseong county held an annual "Sogaya festival" reemerging marching of ancient people with legends.Additionally, events also deal with General Yi Sun-sin who beat Japanese invaders at Danghangpo which is near port of Goseong.
Fossil sites
Goseong has revealed that many dinosaurs lived. The county will host World Dinosaur Expo in 2012. Goseong county participate in the International dinosaur festival of Zigong, Sichuan Province of China which is a sister city. The whole area was on the way of propelling registration of UNESCO natural heritages with other southern coast-lying regions. Fossil sites on the southern coast of Korea are the largest scale in Asia.

Danghangpo Resort is located in Danghang Bay, between Hoehwa-myeon and Donghae-myeon of Goseong, where Admiral Lee Sun-shin crushed the Japanese navy during the Imjin War (1592 - 1598).
The resort complex includes; a family recreational park consisting of a picnic area, camping site, Adventure Amusement Park and Sea Leisure-sports Facility. the Natural Art Park consists of a Natural History Exhibition Hall where stuffed animals such as stuffed bears and others, a dinosaur's egg, fossils of fish and shellfish are displayed, the Natural Sculpture Park harmonized with wild flowers and Styled Stone Exhibition Hall, the Agricultural Relic Exhibition Hall, Folk Play Ground, Guardian Statue Park, One Hundred Million-Year-Old Wave Mark, Fossilized Dinosaur's Footprints, and Sandbar Experience Ground. Danghangpo Resort is a multi-purpose tourist destination where visitors can cultivate their patriotic spirit, study nature, and have good family fun.
Battle of Danghangpo
On June 5, 1592, Admiral Lee Sun-shin and his colleagues were informed of the Japanese naval presence at the bay of Danghangpo in Goseong. On hearing the news, the combined fleet of 51 naval vessels led by Admiral Lee headed straight into the bay area in a long column formation.
In order to deprive the Japanese soldiers and sailors of a chance to retreate inland, Admiral Lee decided to lure the Japanese fleet out to open waters. At the Admiral's feigned retreat, the Japanese began to pursue the Korean fleet.
Once outside of the bay, the Korean ships quickly turned around and rearranged themselves in an aggressive battle formation, and swiftly surrounded the Japanese fleet. Beleaguered Japanese ships were turned to ashes by hails of fire arrows from the Korean fleet spearheaded by the famed Turtle Ships. In the ensuing chaos, most of the Japanese captains fell to their death. Sensing a crushing defeat, the remainder of the Japanese fleet attempted to retreat back into the bay, but during the early morning on the next day, they were annihilated by Admiral Lee's fleet at the bay entrance. In all, 26 Japanese ships were sunk and thousands of enemy soldiers and sailors perished in this great naval battle of Danghangpo.

Dinosaur Museum - Traveling 100million Years Back in Time to the World of Dinosaurs
Using the beautiful scenery of Sangjokam as a backdrop, the museum was built to meet the demands for nature and ecology tours and to enhance the image of Goseong, one of the world's three largest dinosaur footprint fossil sites. The museum consists of one underground floor and three floors above ground and its total space is 3,400㎡. Each exhibition hall is organized around one of the following themes; Dinosaur footprints in Goseong, Cretaceous Period park, dinosaur land, and races of the past. In the museum, 169 items of whole or partial skeletons, models, and fossils of Archaeopteryx, Pterosaurs, Apatosaurus, Ankylosaurus, and Tyrannosaurs Rex are on display.
The museum consists of five exhibition halls, a theater, and a museum shop. Exhibition Hall 1 is the dinosaur skeleton exhibition, Exhibition Hall 2 is the dinosaur footprint fossil exhibition, Exhibition Hall 3 is the dinosaur park, Exhibition Hall 4 is the dinosaur, and Exhibition Hall No. 5 is for fossils by period. Also, there are activity areas where children can learn and experience the world of dinosaurs, such as the 'with dinosaurs' theme land, dinosaur story room, fossils and geological strata, dinosaur bone assembly, size comparison, looking inside and outside, and game land. Outside the museum building, there is a dinosaur shaped playground, benches, and dinosaur footprint experience area. In front of the museum building is a 34m long, 8.7m wide, 24m tall model of the Mesozoic Era herbivore, Brachiosaurus, made of steel truss mosaic tiles.
